I love this pond with the pretty garden surrounding it.  I was on a trip from Nelson BC to Olympia when I stopped at a roadside place for lunch and they had a lovely little pond to sit and eat by.  I love it when people spend the time to beautify their surroundings..plus it was so unexpected.

The actual door was black,...i really got into making nice darks with violet and turquoise and bit of dark umber..yum yum..(I must rephoto this, somehow the whites look very pink.

These two chairs made me smile.  They reminded me of retro space age from the 60's.  That cartoon called the Jetsons.  The photo isnt great I apologize.  Needs a redo!

This is number 3 of my house series.  This painting was much easier than the last two, though i always hesitate to say that painting gets easier..just when you think you have something figured out..wham!!..some other challenge.  I do like porches, especially with chairs, tables and kitty cats.

AAAAAHHH..back to painting in oil, its been quite a while, forgot how stinky it is!..Anyway this is number two of my house series.  i
I do love a red door..but painting picket fences is a challenge.  I didnt want to get too fussy, as I am trying to keep my brushstrokes loose..its easy to get lost in the victorian scrolly details.

 I spent a few months in New Zealand this past winter.  While bedazzled by the beautiful light and pretty landscape everywhere,  I was also smitten with some of the houses and architecture.  One day i wandered around a Auckland neighbourhood taking photos of the victorian homes.  The strong New Zealand light and shapes of the houses caught my interest and i think a new series is about to happen!..
